Woodstock makes several beautiful chime models, many of which “play” the notes of a well-known composition. Of course, this would be the deconstructionist version, because the notes sound in a semi-random order determined by the strength and direction of the wind, and perhaps the size of the individual chimes. No matter what order, however, the familiarity of “Amazing Grace” makes whatever notes sound recognizable as a variant. The tones are clear and beautful. The chime is simple, rather than overly worked or decorous, but that is perhaps most appropriate for “AMazing Grace,” anyway. A little pricier than I would like, but this makes an excellent gift that can be enjoyed on several leverls: Visually, aurally, as text, and as part of a larger indoor or outdoor environment.

I love the Woodstock Company. Just an FYI for everybody purchasing Woodstock chimes. I have several of them and my favorite one broke 10 years later. I called the company and no questions asked. They sent me the piece(s) I needed immediately. I was so impressed with ALL of their help. The second time on the same chime, I called and they sent out new strings. Now it’s back to new. Woodstock has the best sounding wind chimes I have owned. They can be tolerated by most anyone – even those who dislike the tinkling of most other chimes! Everyone who comes over comments on the beautiful sound of the chimes. Since they are properly pitched, musicians can even enjoy these! The baritone is my favorite, with its rich, warm lower tones.Don’t be taken back by their price – you get your money’s worth with chimes from Woodstock.

This chime was a gift for my wife last Spring. We loved it so much I’ve made all the different tones of Gregorian presents for special occasions. Now we have them all, so I’m starting at the top again to put more on the other side of the house. These need just a little wind to make a nice sound. The Baritone is amazing and worth getting first. The wind catcher is balanced nicely butit will take a bit more wind than for the smaller models. Consider putting it higher where more breezes will make it chime. Put it outside, near a window to enjoy the sounds indoors. A great and gentle addtiion to any outdoor setting.

These are so lovely. First they came in a HUUUUGE box, which was a great surprise for my Mum. They are really long, and once unpacked, delightful. They sound like London on a sunday morning. They sound so AMAZINGLY like the Westminster bells ringing….they made my Mum Cry. They are just lovely, and this is a great price on these. I have the larger (and much more expensive) Windsinger Chimes of Orpheus, which also sound fabulous. But, the Windsingers take a lot more wind to chime, and these Westminster chimes ring much more often. The nicest set of chimes we have, no question about it, and we’ve got 7 sets of Woodstocks hanging around the house.
