Naturally weather resistant, this melodic 42″ long chime was inspired by the talented percussion musicians of Vietnam. Hand-made in Vietnam. Every chime features the mellow, earth-inspired tones unique to resonating bamboo tubes. Each Asli Arts chime is hand-tuned by a trained artist-musician who whittles each tube to the perfect pitch, repeatedly tapping each bamboo tube as he carves until the sound is just right. Then our artisans select a range of tube sizes that when combined and touched by gentle breezes, create a deep resonating sound. Sometimes I wonder if the folks who work at Amazon’s warehouse are mentally disabled!?! Because whoever packed this item for shipping clearly gave no thought or concern to how it would arrive. Wraped in super-thin plastic with multiple tears, and placed in a box 4 times too big. Needless to say, the chimes arrived in horrendous condition. Looks like good quality bamboo, but Asli’s construction was so flimsy and cheap; the pieces were tied together by shoe-string cord, glued in several places and stapled with tiny staples to the wood upper ring. However, due to Amazon’s poor shipping and packing, half the staples had come out, the string was broken in several place and this chime was completely unusable! It went right back to Amazon for a full refund. I would highly discourage anyone from buying a chime from Amazon, or Asli manufacturer. Just awful!
